For Kids

There are times when kids can really make a difference for other kids who need their help. This can be the difference between life and death, between danger and safety, between having enough food and shelter and not having the things needed to stay alive.

Kids can make a difference by earning money to provide Syrian children in crisis food, shelter, clothing, medical care and, equally as important, provide some type of safe haven where children can attend classes and receive the kind of therapeutic help they so desperately need.

SET A GOAL

  • Decide how much money you would like to earn by doing sponsored activities.

  • Decide how you would like the money you earn to be used by the charity of your choice to help Syrian children (for example, education, medical aid, food, temporary shelter, etc.)

CHOOSE A CHARITY

  • Click here for information on our featured humanitarian aid organizations.

FIND A SPONSOR

      • Ask your parents, relatives, neighbors or your favorite stores or restaurants to sponsor special activities that you have chosen to do to help Syrian children.

WHAT DOES A SPONSOR DO?

  • A sponsor--or sponsors--will pay you for specific chores and activities. The amount of money you are paid depends upon what is negotiated between you and your sponsor.

CHOOSE AN ACTIVITY

    • Try to be as thoughtful and creative as possible - the sky's the limit! Here are some examples:

    • Read to or write letters for an ill or elderly neighbor

    • Research and write a story or article about the refugee crisis (or anything else) for your school or house of worship

    • Have a bake sale - or any other kind of sale (old books, toys, jewelry) - to raise money

    • Do chores around the house or help your neighbors by mowing their lawn, shoveling snow, etc.

    • Make videos or photo albums for friends or family members

    • Volunteer your time for a worthy cause

GET OTHERS INVOLVED

    • Speak about this project to your friends, your class, your youth group and your house of worship. Tell them why you think this is important and ask for their help.
